Lecale Conservation member and Artist Jim Manley from Coastguard Cottages in Killough organised 30 of his fellow artists to put on a week-long exhibition at the Library and Art Centre in Downpatrick.
The exhibition featuring their work on the areas between Rossglass, Minerstown, Tyrella, Ballykinar and Dundrum where the Department was suggesting that the area was not fit for an AONB – Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
The art exhibition was strongly supported and played a key role in preserving the AONB.
Shown in the photo below are Lecale Members Brenda and Cadogan Enright, Barbara Haig and Keith Bradshaw (RIP) who was also the local chair of Friends of the Earth.
