As part of the Ardglass East Beach Campaign, Lecale Conservation members teamed up with the local Wild Swimming Club who were sick of swimming in rubbish dumped by the local fishing fleet.
Large amounts of fishing rubbish was collected, especially on East Beach and dumped at the Harbour Masters office in Ardglass.
Wild Swimming Club spokesperson Charlie Graham said, “we are sick and tired having to swim though this rubbish and having to base ourselves on shores littered with this disgraceful level of litter. We want the Harbour Master to see what we have to put up with.”
