The sun was shining as over 300 visitors came to Ballyhornan Beach to enjoy the joint Downpatrick Community Collective and Lecale Conservation beach party.
Downpatrick Community Collective (DCC) had everything on offer inc BBQ , DISCO , Face Panting, Caricatures, bubbles & great sporting activities for all the family. A number of visitors helped out Lecale Conservation with our dune restoration program in Ballyhornan. The planting of Lyme and Marram grasses are vital to restore dunes and help support the coastline.
Newry Mourne and Down District Council vice chair Gareth Sharvin along with local Downpatrick Councillor Philip Campbell visited to support the planting, and attend the beach party.
Thank you everyone who came along and had some fun.
